Elena Verna went through AI pricing pages to answer a basic question: what does $20 a month buy? Many plans sell tokens and usage multipliers and leave buyers to guess what one unit is worth. GrokBot's tiers promise 4x and 15x more usage than Plus, while the size of the Plus allowance stays secret. Verna leads growth at Lovable and admits it has the same problem. If you sell AI, put a real task count on every tier. [Elena Verna]

Cal AI’s UFC Creator Campaigns Failed to Drive a Download Spike 📱 (5 minute read)
Cal AI signed UFC creators because fighters track every calorie, and co-founder Jake Castillo says "The UFC creators we signed posted and crickets." He now picks creators by reading their comment sections: "Views can lie. Followers can lie, but comments cannot." Revenue per thousand views sets the ceiling on what Cal AI pays. One flat-rate creator went from 10,000 to 12,000 views a video to a 7 million view post in month three. Price creator deals off your own RPM. [David Barnard] [RevenueCat]

App Store vs. Web Checkout: Apple’s 15% Fee Changes the Math 💳 (16 minute read)
On a $9.99 subscription, a small developer keeps $8.49 through Apple's 15% fee and $9.33 through web checkout with Stripe. That 84-cent gap covers losing about 9% of buyers at the web paywall, and published tests at the 15% rate came out flat or behind. On Android, a link plus Stripe keeps $8.33 against $8.49 in the app. Web checkout pays off when your conversion loss stays under 9%, and heavy inference costs raise that threshold. [Okane Land]
